Samsung Galaxy Watch6 & Classic with Rotating Bezel Specifications

Samsung Galaxy Watch6 series got launched late last week at the Galaxy Unpacked event in Seoul. Two models of the Galaxy Watch were unveiled, the Galaxy Watch6 and the Galaxy Watch6 Classic. Let's take a look at the new improvements, especially the reintroduction of the rotating bezels since it was removed on the Galaxy Watch4 Classic.

Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Classic Specs


So starting from the launched sizes, the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic come between 40mm to 47mm dials and support LTE and Bluetooth v5.3. The Galaxy Watch 6 models also have thinner bezels than their predecessors.


As for the pricing, the Galaxy Watch 6 starts from $299, while the Galaxy Watch6 Classic starts from $399. Both smartwatches can still be pre-ordered up until August 11 when they will be released to all regions. The Galaxy Watch 6 will be available with 40mm (1.3-inch screen) and 44mm (1.5-inch screen) dials (Bluetooth & LTE), while the Classic would be 43mm (1.3-inch screen) and 47mm (1.5-inch screen) dials, same Bluetooth and LTE.


As for the hardware, the Galaxy Watch6 processor comes with Exynos W930 SoC, with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory storage. For the panel, it is Sapphire Crystal AMOLED panels with the Always-On-Display (AOD) feature, though still no optimization from Google or Samsung regarding the screen burn due to pixels not moving slightly on the AOD mode.


The Samsung smartwatches come with oxygen, ECG heart rate, sleep monitoring, and body details. The Galaxy Watch6 and Galaxy Watch6 Classic are also equipped with AFib monitors that help track irregular heart rhythms, monitor blood pressure and menstrual cycle predictions.


As for the battery improvements compared to its predecessors, the 40mm and 44mm of the Galaxy Watch 6 carry 300mAh and 400mAh batteries, respectively. While the Galaxy Watch6 Classic's 43mm and 47mm come with 300mAh and 400mAh batteries, respectively. With the AOD mode turned on, the battery can last up to 30 hours, while it can last 10 hours more with it turned off.


The Samsung Galaxy Watch6 and Galaxy Watch6 Classic run on Google's Wear OS-based One UI 5 Watch. They are compatible with Android devices (Samsung recommended) running Android 10 and higher.


There is a LTE and Bluetooth model, the latter model supports Bluetooth 5.3. As for water resistance and other connectivity features, the Smartwatch supports Wi-Fi 2, NFC, and GPS connectivity and comes with 5ATM and IP68 ratings.
