"iPhone SE 4: Solo Camera, Stylish Upgrade from iPhone 14 Chassis, Reveals Report

Once again, specifications for the iPhone SE 4 have surfaced, providing tech enthusiasts with insights into Apple's anticipated follow-up to the 2022 iPhone SE. The third-generation midrange iPhone SE, launched in 2022 with a modified iPhone 8 chassis and a unique Touch ID button, stands as the sole iPhone in Apple's current lineup sporting this feature. The iPhone SE 4, touted as its successor, is poised for a contemporary redesign, featuring a larger screen, a distinctive display notch, and the incorporation of Face ID technology.

iPhone SE 4 Upcoming Changes

MacRumors reveals details about the upcoming model, internally labeled D59 and codenamed Ghost, set to be released as the iPhone SE 4. In a departure from its predecessor, this next iteration in the iPhone SE series is expected to closely resemble Apple's recent smartphone models.

Based on specifications from undisclosed sources, the iPhone SE 4 is set to reside in a slightly modified iPhone 14 chassis. While the dimensions align closely with the iPhone 14 at 146.7x71.5x7.8mm, it is reported to be 6g lighter due to its single rear camera configuration.

The leak hints at an updated design for the iPhone SE 4, featuring a 48-megapixel rear camera codenamed Portland, a departure from the single-camera setup of previous SE models. The rear panel is anticipated to mirror the iPhone 14, differing only in accommodating the single rear camera.

Reports also suggest the inclusion of a dedicated Action button, introduced in the iPhone 15 Pro models, replacing the traditional mute switch. This versatile button can be programmed for various functions. Similar to the iPhone 15 series, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to adopt a USB Type-C port to comply with charger regulations in the EU, India, and California.
