Galaxy S27 Ultra Privacy Display Upgrade: All Leaks So Far
Samsung is reportedly working on an upgraded Privacy Display for the Galaxy S27 Ultra and the new Galaxy S27 Pro. According to SamMobile, the improved screen will also be brighter, and it will be the first time the privacy feature comes to a Galaxy S phone that isn't an Ultra.
What is Samsung's Privacy Display?
Samsung introduced Privacy Display on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. It is built into the screen hardware and limits what people can see from the side. If someone next to you on a bus or in a banking hall looks at your phone, they see a darker, harder-to-read screen, while you see it normally from the front.
You can switch it on or off and set it to turn on only for certain apps, such as banking, messaging or your photo gallery.
What's new on the Galaxy S27 Ultra and S27 Pro
- Improved Privacy Display: an upgraded version of the technology is tipped for both the S27 Ultra and S27 Pro.
- Brighter screens: both phones are expected to get brighter displays that are easier to read in direct sunlight.
- Not on the cheaper models: the standard Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ are reportedly not getting Privacy Display.
Galaxy S27 Ultra leaked design
Renders shared by tipster Sonny Dickson in August show the biggest design change for the Ultra in years. Instead of separate camera rings, the phone has a wide camera plateau running across the back, similar to the iPhone 17 Pro. There is a pill-shaped cutout on the plateau, likely for a secondary camera and flash, and a circular outline on the back panel that suggests built-in magnets for Qi2 wireless charging and accessories.
Samsung has not confirmed the design, so treat these renders as a leak until launch.
