To further expatiate on this 'keep in chat' feature, according to the latest blog post released by WhatsApp, they explained that the norm is that disappearing messages are not meant to be accessed, however, with the new 'keep in chat' feature, deleted messages can now be saved and accessed later. But the sender will have to approve of this before it is effective.

Updated users will able able to see a new bookmark icon where their saved messages are saved, this can be accessed in the Kept Messages folder. The feature will be rolled out globally to all users and they will be required to update their app to the latest version.

In other news, WhatsApp for iOS 23.7.82 update via the App Store comes with a new sticker maker tool that allows users to create stickers within the app officially instead of getting a third-party app from the Apple Appstore. Users will be able to create their own custom stickers starting from iOS 16.

Older iOS versions will not be able to benefit from this new custom stickers option on WhatsApp for iOS. Unfortunately, WhatsApp confirms that there are "no plans" to bring this functionality to devices running on older iOS versions. The custom stickers can be accessed under the user's sticker collection.
