Nothing Phone 2 Launch on July 11; Teaser Reveals Rear Panel Design

 Nothing Phone 2 is set to launch in India on July 11, according to an announcement made by the company on Tuesday. Led by OnePlus Co-Founder Carl Pei, this UK-based startup's second smartphone will feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, a flagship-grade chipset introduced last year. Additionally, the Phone 2 will boast a 6.7-inch display and a slightly larger 4,700mAh battery. Nothing has also provided a glimpse of the redesigned Glyph interface on the rear panel of the phone through a teaser.

The official website of the smartphone maker confirmed the launch of the Nothing Phone on Tuesday, revealing that the successor to the Nothing Phone 1 will be introduced to global markets, including India, on July 11 at 8:30pm IST/4pm BST. The launch event will be live-streamed on the company's website and YouTube channel.

Accompanying the announcement was a teaser image showcasing the redesigned Glyph interface on the rear panel of the Nothing Phone 2. This teaser aligns with leaked renders by tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer (@OnLeaks), which also depicted a redesigned layout for the LED strips, including the ones surrounding the camera layout.

Earlier this month, the company confirmed that the Nothing Phone 2, like its predecessor, will be manufactured in India. Nothing has also committed to utilizing recycled materials and plastic-free packaging during the production of the Nothing Phone 2, in line with the company's sustainability initiatives.


With less than a month remaining until the launch of the Nothing Phone 2, the company has already divulged some key specifications of the smartphone. The device will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, a chip significantly faster than the Snapdragon 778G+ found in the Nothing Phone 1. It will also feature a larger 4,700mAh battery.


Furthermore, Nothing has guaranteed three years of Android OS updates and four years of security updates for the Nothing Phone 2. This commitment ensures that customers who purchase the phone will receive a software support duration equivalent to that of recent flagship devices from Oppo and OnePlus. Notably, Samsung and Google offer five years of security updates for their currently supported smartphones.
