Samsung Galaxy S24 Series Codename Revealed: What this Means?

Samsung is in the process of developing its next flagship smartphones, known as the Galaxy S24 series. As anticipation builds, speculations and rumors regarding the phones' features and specifications have started circulating on the internet. Recently, the codenames for the handsets in the series have been revealed online. What does this mean?

Samsung traditionally assigns codenames to its high-end smartphones. For instance, the Galaxy S23 series was codenamed Diamond, while the Galaxy S22 series was known as Rainbow. The Galaxy S24 series is expected to make its debut early next year.


A collaborative report from Galaxy Club and Sammobile confirms that the Samsung Galaxy S24 series is currently being developed under the codename Muse. The Galaxy S24 Ultra has been identified with the codename Muse3, indicating that the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ will likely use codenames Muse1 and Muse2, respectively.

Furthermore, despite various rumors suggesting otherwise, the report states that Samsung will continue the tradition of offering a Plus model for the Galaxy S24 series, namely the Galaxy S24+. Speculations indicate that the upcoming Galaxy S24 series will consist of three models: the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24+, and the Galaxy S24. However, official information regarding the specifications and features of these upcoming smartphones is not yet available.

Samsung has a history of assigning unique codenames to its flagship phone lineups. The previous Galaxy S21 series was codenamed Unbound, while the Galaxy S20 series went by the name Hubble.

Recently, details about the camera setup of the purported Galaxy S24 Ultra surfaced online, suggesting minor improvements compared to its predecessor. According to the report, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature the same camera configuration as the existing Galaxy S23 Ultra. This includes a 200-megapixel Samsung HP2 primary sensor, a 12-megapixel Sony IMX564 ultra-wide lens, and two other sensors with slight enhancements.

The report also reveals that the phone will be equipped with a 12-megapixel Sony IMX754 periscope telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom, as well as another 12-megapixel Sony IMX754+ image sensor with 10x optical zoom. Additionally, the phone is expected to feature an LED flash and a laser autofocus unit on its rear panel.
