Facebook Shops Rolls Out Across Instagram and Messenger; WhatsApp Next
Facebook Shops is a new service which will allow small business to grow by selling and displaying their products on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp. If you have any service to display/advertise to get more customers, you can now make use of the "Facebook Shops" feature for free.
Mark on Tuesday said Facebook Shops will help small businesses grow especially in the world's current situation where things are very difficult. Also, customers will be able to chat with businesses through WhatsApp, Messenger, or Instagram Direct.
Zuckerberg also said that their owned social networks will be working with online commerce platforms like Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Channel Advisor, CedCommerce, Cafe24, Tienda Nube and Feedonomics to easily integrate into a strong, open ecosystem of tools to help them manage their customer journey end-to-end, leaving it up to the business to decide what level of integration they want.
"This is the biggest step that we've taken yet to enable commerce across our family of apps."
"If you're running a small business or if you're thinking about starting one even from your living room, you have a whole suite of tools available that can help."
"We really hope that our commerce solutions help businesses not only survive but thrive during the coming months, and adapt to new consumer behavior," said Instagram Shopping product lead Layla Amjadi.
"Our business model here is ads," Zuckerberg said. "Rather than charge businesses for Shops, we know that Shops are valuable for businesses. They're going to in general bid more for ads and we'll eventually make money that way."
