The ability for users to text themselves from a linked device can also be a way to store text messages or media just as in the case of Telegram Saved Messages. Before now, WhatsApp did not support this feature, users could only see their chat on the primary device.

A screenshot from WABetaInfo, which you can see above shows that while searching for contacts within WhatsApp Desktop Beat, you can easily open your personal chat and send messages to it from the contact list.

Furthermore, it is important to note that the chat will also show up when you try to login into WhatsApp from another mobile device entirely. This feature will also be coming to WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS when users can use their secondary device to link to the primary device.

This is one of the cool features coming to the multi-device update, it is still under development and will be released in a future app update.
