This new premium subscription feature will only be available to WhatsApp Business users and will be tailored toward businesses. This implies that regular users with no business on WhatsApp will not really see the need to utilize it.

Premium users subscribed to WhatsApp Business Premium will be able to customize their contact link to their WhatsApp and are free to make changes to the link at least once every three months.

The new customizable contact link will make it easier for sellers to share their contact links with consumers easily instead of the phone number link. This is quite similar to a Telegram / Twitter username.

WhatsApp Business premium will support 10 devices connected to the same account simultaneously. The premium service also allows subscribed users to make a video call with up to 32 participants.

The feature is still in the beta stages, it will be rolled out to the public sooner than later. However, WhatsApp is yet to make an official comment (price, launch date) regarding this development.
