Instagram upcoming features coming with Recommendations, Fullscreen Videos
Instagram will be coming with new features and app improvements in the coming months, mostly focused on areas of video, messaging creators, and shopping. Instagram will be showing recommendations to users in the future and also highlight posts in the user feed based on interests/preferences.
Instagram chief Adam Mosseri on Twitter announced these new features coming on Instagram. It is noteworthy to know the recommendation feature is currently being tested and the first version of this beta was rolled out last week. This week, there will be a new rollout of this version which aims to improve users' interests in topics they may want to see via recommendations.
As for the video update the full-screen update, Mosseri says that their upcoming video updates will now make viewing more entertaining, immersive, and can be viewed in fullscreen. There were no many details about what to be expecting, but Moserri made it clear that video is becoming very useful in social media in the modern-day so it could mean Instagram will be being so much cool features to their video section.
In addition, Instagram is also working on bringing improvements for the creators so they can see more ways to monetize in the platform. Such attention on this subject can already be seen on the Facebook-owned company when they said "The pandemic shifted, or accelerated the shift of commerce, from offline to online by a number of years and we're trying to lean into that trend."
More features being worked on is Instagram's new share link feature that allows users to share links on stories via stickers. While if you are a verified user or have more than 10k followers, you will already be able to do so by just a swipe-up gesture. This new sticker with shareable links would be available to a wider audience soon.
