WhatsApp testing Undo Delete Feature for Messages on Android

WhatsApp is rolling out a beta build of its Android client which will feature an undo delete message feature. With this, users will be able to recover a deleted message in a chat. Here is how it works and what you should be expecting.

WhatsApp is still adding new features that can really be beneficial to its users such as the recent report of the platform working on a new privacy feature that allows users to hide their phone numbers from other members in a group chat.

So regarding the new WhatsApp undo feature for messages, a report by WaBeatInfo shows that users will get a snack bar at the bottom of the screen after they delete a message using the Delete for Me option. The snack bar will be displayed briefly, so users have a few seconds to decide if they want to let the message totally go, or not.

The new update will be available starting from the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.18.13 update, only to selected beta testers, while more users will get the feature in the coming weeks. WhatsApp will bring the feature to iOS and WhatsApp for Desktop versions later on.

Other related features WhatsApp is working on, though privacy-focused include the ability for users to leave group chats silently as posted on this site previously. Stay tuned for more WhatsApp feature update news.
